GME was established by Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE SpA), a company wholly owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. GME conducts its activities in compliance with the guidelines of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) and the regulatory provisions established by the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Network and Environment (ARERA).
